January update

I have a day left to keep to my promise of posting at least once a month and I even got pictures together from the last 2 months - can you believe we're about to enter the 3rd month of 2011.
Just deleted February when I was uploading photos so I'll try again in another post.

  • Rob and I went out for a nice kidless dinner to celebrate our friend Deb's birthday.
  • We dogsitted our friend's dog Marley for a weekend. The cats didn't seem to mind too much, no barking or hissing - but we aren't getting a dog, dogsitting is fun but I'm not a dog person.
  • We go out "Cabogganing". Lilo has a hard time pronouncing tobogganing.
  • Isla is offically potty trained - yay.
  • I went out for a girls day and night out for Sara's 35th birthday celebration; spa, shopping, dinner, drinks and dancing.
  • We went to Huntsville for a weekend and I painted a pirate ship mural on Ian's wall. I still need to go back and finish but it's looking pretty cool so far.
  • We have been enjoying our wood burning fireplace.
  • Lilo starts art classes and gymnastic, she loves them both.
  • I go to the Raptors game with Deb.

small update

Hi All

I know it's been way too long since I posted anything. A lot has happened since my last post. We've moved to the Beaches and love it. The neighborhood is a lot of fun and close to work and everything. I'm working on my year in review photo album again and will care when it's ready so you can see what we did all last year. But right now I'll just give you the highlights on life now.

Lilo just started gymnastic classes at gymnastic club and she's loving it. It's cute to see her run out there and try all the different equipment.
She's also started an art class. A neighborhood mom started classes at her house and it's cute to see Lilo come home with her still life drawing of pineapple and oranges.

Isla is potty trained - well a few accidents but we're almost a diaper free house.
Isla is getting so grown up, talking tons, counting and running everywhere. We always thought Lilo would be the outgoing one - now we're not so sure.

And for us parents - we just got new bedroom furniture, it looks so nice to have stuff that matches. Rob started 2 more courses this semester which should make for a busy winter.
I'm hoping to post more on this blog as well as my craft blog.

Here's to a fabulous 2011.

New Post

So I was meaning to post at least once a month but then 1, then 2 and now 3 months have past. So I will just give you a brief update on what's been happening.
January was spent getting our house ready to sell. Lots of painting, rearranging of furniture and lots of cleaning to get our house looking the best it has ever looked. It was a lot of hard work but it's a good reminder to get things done around your place and not leave it til you're planning to sell.

In February we put the house on the market and sold in a week - which was great. It was hard getting out of the house for showings all the time - we spent a few afternoons and evenings at McDonald's playland.
Also in February we took a week holiday in Huntsville. Rob's sister and family were heading to Vancouver for the Olympics so we stayed at their place and enjoyed the winter weather. Toronto barely got any snow this year so it was nice to have tons of snow to play in.
We got out one day and practiced skating which was a lot of fun.
Here are all the kids making Olympic cookies before they were off to the games
In March was the end of Lilo's gymnastics for the term. She loved it again. We will sign her up again in the Fall.
Also in March I started my new job. I got a position at Sears as a Product Manager for ladies sleepwear. It's very similar to my previous position that I had. It's going really well and I've jump right back into the working world easily. The office is right downtown, a block from Ryerson, where Rob works so we've been driving to work together which we are both enjoying.
For Easter we went up to Huntsville again. Isla had a blast decorating eggs.
Lilo was getting creative with her egg.
And in April, Isla turned 2. My baby is 2 already, time flies. We held her party at an indoor play centre with her friend Alex (who turned 2 the week before Isla) - it's the same thing we did last year.
The party was fun and more relaxing than last year since our girls are older and can actually walk :) Last year they were still pretty wobbly.
I'm trying to figure out how to add a flickr link on the side of the blog so you can look at more photos of 2010 to date.

Santa

We just got home from visiting Santa at Rob's work. We're lucky that Santa works at Ryerson. Lilo was very excited and Isla wasn't sure what to think. But they both hopped on his knee.Santa coming in the doors.

Lilo's excited face to see him. This was actually the first time we saw him since I decided not to wait in line in the mall and just wait for this visit.

The girls on his lap.
Santa telling Lilo that Dad needs to move the tv out of the fireplace so he can get down on Christmas Eve. Thanks Santa :)

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner but can't wait to see the girls face on Christmas morning.

Lilo had her first Winter Concert earlier this month. It was super cute, I will get a video of her singing her song.

Can you tell I'm the only parent that didn't get the memo that she was suppose to wear a hat and scarf. Oh well, at least it didn't upset her.

Here are the girls enjoying the first snow fall. It was cute to see Isla playing with the snow and tasting it. Now both girls just want to eat snow all the time. But I need to come up with a way to duct tape Isla's mitts on or something.

Here is Lilo's letter to Santa. I wrote it out first what she dictated to me and then got her to write it out. She loves to write letters and words but 1 or 2 at a time, this was a little harder. It took us a few days to finish it and I ended up leaving a sentence out :) I don't think Isla really wants a stuffed bunny, plus Isla sent her own letter.
Lilo also made Santa a present, an ornament of his bag of toys.
I just realized that you might not be able to read Lilo's letter :) It says:
Santa
I am a good girl because I didn't have a time-out and I take care of my sister Isla.
I want for Christmas a present. I want a Princess Barbie.
Thank you
Lilo
This is Isla's letter. She loves to colour right now. She holds the pencil the right way and everything.
We haven't gotten a reply from Santa yet but hopefully we will.
We're having a quiet Christmas day, just the 4 of us. It should be fun. Then we're off to Huntsville for Christmas part 2 over News Years.
From our family to yours - have a very happy holidays!!!
