Sorry for the long delay in posting
I can't believe our last post was of Isla's birthday - that was 2 months ago already. Well all I can say is that it's been a busy 2 months. I'll try my best to sum up the past few months.
After Isla's birthday I spent every free minute sewing the 7 bridesmaid dresses that I was contracted to make. It was a lot of work but they turned out really nice and everyone loved them. I have a few pictures posted on my other blog here.
While making these dresses I have learnt a few things. 1. I don't want to make 7 dresses again 2. I need to charge more if I do this again.
The day after I handed over the dresses we drove off to Florida. It was a long drive with a teething Isla. We ended up stopping over night instead of driving though which was a good thing. We drove down with Janet and her boys too (in their van).
Once we got to Florida we had maybe 2 days of sun and then it rained the rest of the time. But we still got in a few trips to the pool, once in the rain, 2 rainy trips to Sea World, and a dry day at Disney for Bob's 60th birthday.
Lilo loved Sea World, the dolphin show and the Shamo show. And she got to see princesses at Disney so she was thrilled.
The first week of June I started a photography course at Ryerson. It's a full month of classes and pretty intense but I'm learning a lot. It's a 1st year, 1 semester course condensed in a month, complete with assignments and tests. The challenging part is finding time for everything with such short deadlines. My final assignment is due on Tuesday along with my final test - only 2 classes left.
Also in June I took a few workshops from the career counselor that I got from my exit package. They were good, just to refresh my mind for the work world since it's been over a year since I've been in an office. So I'm officially starting the job hunt now.
My parent are visiting right now, which has been great to help us out with babysitting. Yesterday I went to Rochester with my class to visit the Kodak gallery and Rob was in his baseball tournament.
So far Rob's team is doing well in the tournament - crossing my fingers for the finals.
Isla is growing up so fast and moving so fast. She's a determined little girl.
She has been popping teeth like crazy these past 2 months - she has them all but her 2nd set of molars.
Lilo is also doing well, riding her trike whenever she can. Can't believe she's going to be starting school in the fall already.
We also planted a garden again this year, a little later than last year but it looks like it's doing good so far. We planted a few things from seed this year and the radish are going great.
Hope that gave you a peek into the past few months.
Happy Father's Day to all dads out there.
