We saw Santa !!!!

Today we went to the Ryerson's kids Christmas party which included a visit from Santa. Lilo was so excited to see Santa that she was the first to jump on Santa's lap - he barely got a chance to sit down.
Only 2 more sleeps and he's here :)

Snow, Snow, Snow!!!

So we've been dumped on with a lot of snow and Lilo is loving it. She has been going out with Dad and helping him shovel, well play while he shovels. And Lilo has been playing in the backyard making foot prints on every inch of it. I love that she likes to play on her own while I can watch from the kitchen with Isla. But I did have both girls out the other week when we didn't have as much snow and they both loved it. Isla was trying to crawl in it - a little chilly :)
So, we're off to Janet and the boys for Christmas. We're trying to get the final shopping done. I have been busy crafting these past few weeks - I've been tad obessesed. You can check out my other blog to see what I have been doing.
Isla is getting cuter everyday. She's just started to crawl for real but still prefers to army crawl since she's faster at it. She has also started to clap - very cute. I've been trying to catch it on video but haven't yet.
Lilo is getting very grown up and getting a little attitude already. She has been playing games on the computer - I know she's only 3 and navigate through websites to find the games she wants. It's neat to see her be able to type her name. It's also neat to see her figure out the games and learn new things, like the alphabet, spelling and matching.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Here's a video of Isla and her version of crawling. It's not the traditional way but she gets where she wants to go and she's pretty speedy. This past week she has just started to get on her knees and try to actually crawl but hasn't gotten far before she just goes down to her belly and army crawls over.
She's sure growing up.

Tree down

Our Christmas tree is down and the cat has a scratch on it's ear - I think the 2 are related.

The past couple of weeks

Boy, the past couple of weeks have flown by. One week with a sick baby and then the next week with my parents visiting and then this week - well it's just gone by too.

Isla was sick the other week, throwing up everyday and Friday she wasn't keeping anything down and I was afraid she was getting dehydrated so I brought her to the doctors. She just said to try and get some Pedialyte in her and watch her. She was still happy in between throwing up so it was weird. Anyways she snapped out of it on Saturday and was hungry - poor girl had barely eaten in a few days. But I was afraid to feed her too much since I wanted it to stay down.
My parents got in on Friday night, by train and only 45 mins late, which is really early in my mind. Unfortunalty when my parents were visiting Isla did not have a great week. She was happy as long as you weren't trying to make her sleep or take a bottle. We had some sleepless nights and a few fights with her to take the bottle and well now she can take the bottle no problem. And is sleeping a bit better. She was getting in this habit of using me as her soother - not fun, especially with 8 teeth (yep she has 8 now, which was probably why her sleeping was so bad that week). She doesn't bite (often) but those are sharp teeth and they can scratch - anyways I decided it was time to start weaning. I haven't completly weaned, I'm still nursing her a few times a day but she is mostly getting bottles now. Mostly breatmilk (but my freezer supply is almost gone) and a few formula bottles.
I go back to work in 2 months (I know I can't believe it's coming so soon) so I don't want to have to stress about Isla taking bottles just before I go back. Plus this hopefully will help with the mommy suckiness that she is going though right now since other people can feed her.
So anyways - enough with that. The visit with my parents was good, it was nice to be able to sleep in a bit. Lilo had fun working on her new workbook with my mom and reading books with my dad. Isla is on the go all the time now, she still is just moving on her belly but she's a fast army crawler. She loves the cats and the cat door. When she gets something in her head she's off - very cute.

We went to the Aurora Santa Claus parade, it was fun, not huge but Lilo loved it. But boy, you don't realize how cold it is - we weren't dressed the warmest but we survived.

We also did some Christmas shopping, which was good since it got me in the spirit and I have started Christmas crafts already so maybe I will have stuff done on time - maybe not. I keep thinking I should send out Christmas cards now since I have them but I haven't yet - maybe next week :)
