Up too early

Rob's at a guys weekend and the girls decided that 6:30am was the time to wake up, I guess it could have been worse. At least they are in good moods, happy and cuddly.
Because really they have been whiny most of the week. Both girls having melt downs. Lilo over not being able to get her shoes on (well actually giving up before she tries), over Isla holding a pen, or just that she wants juice. And Isla's meltdowns have been over, mom not wanting to pick her up while she's cooking, eating or going to the bathroom, over Lilo taking the pen away from her, or from mom putting her down.
So we've had a few more time outs this week and well I'm just hoping that next week will be better. And well it's made me look harder this week for a job :) I think we're ready to spend days apart.
On the job hunt front, I've had an interview (position was too junior) and a meeting with another company. I have a few applications out there and have spread the word that I'm in the market so hopefully something will pan out soon.
Lilo starts junior kindergarten in 2 weeks. She's excited, even though I don't think she really knows what she's excited for except playing with new friends. I keep wondering if she knows enough, I know she's pretty smart but her pronunciation is still weak and she skips 13 and 20 when she counts and still can't hold her pencil properly. And she get frustrated when I try and help her. I guess it's just that I wonder if she's up to par with the other kids, especially since she is going to be one of the youngest in her class. I know I'm just being the typical mother worrying and I'm not too worried. I know her artist skills are advanced, I wish I had a camera to take a picture of the cat she drew yesterday. I love that she's adding more detail, the cat no longer has a big smile like people but 2 lines curved from the nose to make the mouth.
I'm sure she'll learn tons this year, I can't wait.
And the other thing I've just realized is that I'm going to have some alone time with Isla with Lilo off in the mornings - something we never have. It's going to be fun, assuming I don't get a job in the next 2 weeks.
Isla is growing up so fast. She loves climbing and descending the stairs and is pretty good. She wants to be involved in everything that Lilo is doing. She's communicating more everyday, not really a lot of full words but a lot of beginning of words; like boo for book and juw for juice (well anything in a sippy cup, usually water).

And the car update is that the engine is in and it is suppose to be ready for Wednesday, so Rob will be driving down on Wednesday to pick it up first thing on Thursday. It will be nice to finally have our car back, even though I have been getting used to the Jeep Compass - not a bad car. What I'm really looking forward to is to have all our stuff home.

Still no car

I'm sure many of you have heard about our car troubles coming home from Florida. If not here's the condensed version. In the middle of no where in South Carolina our engine cracks. We were lucky to be able to coast off the highway into a gas station where we waited in the heat for 2 hours for a tow truck. We ended up spending 2 days in Rock Hill, South Carolina waiting to hear what was wrong with our car and how long it would be to fix. We were told a week at least so we rented a car to drive home - 14 hours. Now, we have just found out that the new engine is still not in so it will be another week so hopefully next weekend Rob can drive down to pick it up (3 weeks later).
Not a fun way to end a trip.

Otherwise Florida was fun and hot. We went with our friends Kelly, Steve, Izzy and baby Kai. We spent most of the time in the pools at the resort. All the pools have zero entrance so the kids can just walk in. Isla loved that. Lilo and Izzy turned into fishes there. Lilo came back to her swim class a lot more comfortable putting her face in the water.

We also went to Disney one day, and wow, was it a hot day. We were melting, the kids were getting grumpy so we decided to leave for a nap and try to come back at night. It thunder showered as soon as we left and was just clearing up when we came back at night. It was nicer at night, much cooler and less busy (I'm sure the rain cleared a lot of people away). The lines were shorter and we got to see the night parade and fireworks.

So back home and we finally have some summer here - hot and muggy. I will post some pictures and a cute video of the girls watching the fireworks once I find the charger for the camera battery (it might be in S.C. still in our car since we could fit everything).

But here are 2 pictures that Rob took of the girls when they came to watch my softball game the other week. The girls were cheering me on, "Go Mommy, Go". It was very cute.
